I started Intecore Physical Therapy in 2007 with $5,000, a couple of treatment tables, and no patients. I spent two days a week out marketing, and the other three treating ANYONE I could. And it worked… at first.
Within months, I was hiring staff and opening new clinics. But eventually, I hit a ceiling. Growth stalled. Cash flow got tight. I was working more than ever and barely keeping my head above water. Something had to give.
I realized the problem wasn’t how hard I was working. The problem was me, and what I didn’t know.
I didn’t know how to read my numbers, I didn’t know how to forecast revenue, I didn’t know how to build a sustainable business. And if I wanted to stop running on fumes, I had to stop thinking like “just a PT” and learn how to lead a business.
So that’s what I did.
